In this training, the presenters will discuss ways that transportation staff can become more actively involved in helping children (and teachers) with challenging and unsafe behaviors while loading, unloading, and/or riding on the bus.
The trainers will discuss developmentally appropriate practices that staff can use with the young children in their care. They will discuss scenarios, different needs, phrases, and techniques participants can use when they return to their work sites.
This training will be as interactive as possible for the participants.
At the end of this session participants will:
- Have a better understanding of why children may be exhibiting challenging behaviors.
- Use developmentally appropriate language and class management techniques with young children to support the teaching team and ensure safe transportation to and from school.
